Borderline Case

In a programme dealing with security measures for the 2006 World Cup, a television reporter was heard to say that a major influx of football supporters would come from Italy, “one of Germany’s neighbours”. The man was speaking from Milan, and was the BBC correspondent in Italy. I felt some relief that it was not a German reporter who had made that comment.
