Baits me

In Exeter in Devon the public buses have letters instead of numbers to identify them. I took the K to get into town. The bus driver told me that for the way back I could take either the K or the T, making T rhyme with K as he was saying so. The same morning I heard the manager of Charlton Athletics being interviewed on TV. He said of their opponents: “They’re hard to beat and that wasn’t always the case”, making beat rhyme with great and case rhyme with nice .
